Safety and crisis resources

Guardian Angel is for adults 18+. Angelina and Angel are AI allies. They help you grow and get back out into your life. They are not therapy, and they are not a crisis service. This page explains what happens when things get hard.

You're talking to an AI

Angelina and Angel are AI, not people.

They will never pretend to be human or claim to be a therapist, doctor or counselor.

If you need help right now

  • United States: call or text 988 (988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line).
  • Colombia: call Línea 106. It's free, confidential and open 24/7. If you're in immediate danger, call 123.
  • Anywhere else: go to findahelpline.com.

If you're in immediate danger, call your local emergency number. Reaching out to someone you trust helps too.

How they respond to crisis signals

If you tell Angelina or Angel that you're thinking about suicide or self-harm, or that someone you know is, this is what happens:

  1. They acknowledge you. Plainly and without judgment. You matter, and what you said is serious.
  2. They show you a help card. It lists real people trained for this, based on where you are.
  3. They refuse methods. No instructions, doses or means, and no help writing a note. They keep pointing you toward help.

A safety check runs on every reply, in text and in voice. It looks for clear signals — talk of suicide, self-harm, a plan or a means — and quieter ones like deep hopelessness.

No system is perfect. They can miss things or misread them. If you need help, please don't wait for them to notice. Use the numbers above.

What they won't do: diagnose you, treat you, promise to keep you safe, or ask you to talk to them instead of a hotline.

Chats and calls with friends

Your 1:1 chats and calls with friends are between you and them. We never tell a friend about your crisis. When you talk with Angelina or Angel, anywhere in the app, this protocol applies.

Groups

Groups with a shared mountain are part of the product. Before Angelina or Angel joins any group, safety rules are in place: private support for the person in crisis, a short pause for everyone else without naming anyone, and nothing from your private conversations is carried into the group.

Anonymous reporting

California law requires us to report once a year to the state's Office of Suicide Prevention, starting July 1, 2027. The report covers how many times we showed crisis referrals and how our safety protocols work. It contains counts only: no names, no messages and nothing that identifies you.
