The short version
We collect what we need to be a useful ally for you. We never sell your data. Angelina and Angel run on AI models on servers we control, not through outside AI companies, so your chats are not sent to them. You can ask us for a copy of your data or to delete it at any time.
What we collect
Account details: your name, email, password (stored only as a secure hash), language, and the year you were born. We check your full date of birth to confirm you're 18 or older but we don't store it.
Chats: what you write to Angelina or Angel and what they reply.
Memory: notes and summaries built from your chats, such as your goals, the people and projects you mention, and the steps you've taken, so she can remember you between conversations.
Voice: when you use voice, your audio is turned into text so she can answer, and her replies may be turned into speech. [CONFIRM: whether raw audio is kept, and for how long]
Location: only when you allow it in your browser, and only to help with places, maps and directions. [CONFIRM: whether location is stored or used only in the moment]
Technical data: device and browser type, approximate time of use, and security logs. IP addresses in our consent records are stored only as a one-way hash.
Agreements: when you accepted the age acknowledgment and these terms, and which version.
Why we use it
To run your conversations and remember what matters to you.
To keep you safe, including recognizing signs of crisis and showing crisis resources.
To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
To improve Guardian Angel for you. We do not use your chats to train AI models for anyone else, and we do not sell, rent or share your data for advertising. [CONFIRM: whether de-identified chats are ever used to improve our own models; if so, add an opt-out]
Where it lives and who sees it
Your data is stored and processed in the United States on servers we control or rent. The AI models run privately on those servers. No outside AI company receives your chats.
We use a small number of service providers only to operate the service, such as hosting, email delivery and, later, payments. They may only use your data to provide that service to us. [CONFIRM: final list of providers before launch]
If you live outside the United States, including in Colombia, you agree that your data is transferred to and stored in the United States.
We may share data if the law requires it, or to protect someone's life or safety.
How long we keep it
We keep your chats and memory while your account is open, so she can remember you.
If you delete your account, we delete your chats, memory and voice data within 30 days, and remove them from backups within 90 days. [CONFIRM: these periods are achievable]
We keep records of your age confirmation and agreement acceptance, and limited security logs, for as long as the law requires us to prove consent, even after you delete your account. [CONFIRM: period]
Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct, export or delete your data, or withdraw your consent, by writing to [email protected] from your account email. We'll answer within 15 business days. [CONFIRM: response time across US states and Colombia]
Withdrawing consent means we can no longer run Guardian Angel for you, so we will close your account.
Depending on where you live, you may have extra rights under local law. We won't treat you differently for using them.
AI disclosure
Angelina and Angel are AI, not humans. We will remind you of this in the app. [CONFIRM: in-chat reminder schedule required by New York law]
AI companions may not be suitable for minors, which is one reason Guardian Angel is for adults 18 and older only.
Crisis protocol
If a conversation suggests you may be thinking about suicide or self-harm, Angelina or Angel will step out of the normal conversation, encourage you to contact real help, and show crisis resources: 988 in the United States, and Línea 106 in Colombia.
We record that the protocol was triggered, without extra details, so we can check it works and report the number of referrals as California law requires. We don't contact emergency services on your behalf. [CONFIRM: what is logged and who can see it]
Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and hashed passwords. No system is perfect; if a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.
Changes
When we change this policy materially, we'll update the version and ask you to accept it the next time you sign in.
